Influence of gaseous detonation synthesis and ambient temperature on nanosized TiO2 particles

Abstract:Efficient process of gas-phase detonation synthesis has been established for the synthesis of anatase and rutile as well as their mixture. The influence of the ambient temperature on the size and the crystalline phase of the TiO2 crystallite were studied by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and TEM. The results indicate hat the size of TiO2 crystallite increased and the crystalline phase transformed from anatase to rutile with the rise of ambient temperature. It is also found that the reaction took place in a deflagration-to-detonation transition course with the determination of detonation pressures.
