Abstract:To improve induction heat forming of steel plate, a mathematical simulation model was investigated. This confirmed the feasibility of using induction heating for steel plate heat stress shaping, and the deformation effect rule was studied for significant factors influencing results during the heating process. Based on electromagnetic field theory, a finite element model for steel plate induction heating was built up by means of ANSYS software. Current intensity and frequency in the inductor during induction were measured with the use of a Rogowski coil, thus, electrical parameters useful in numerical calculation were obtained. The calculation results were consistent with experimental values. The following conclusions were made: the transverse shrinkage deformation can be increased by either prolonging the induction heating time or increasing the current intensity in the inductor. Reasonable deformation can be achieved through the adjustment of electrical parameters and heating time in the induction heating process.
