Abstract:Here the diverse competitive design (DCD) for a new pre-fold energy absorption tube was presented. The geometric parameters of the tube were optimized to minimize the specific energy absorption and maximize the peak load of the tube by combining the pair of dual DCD optimization algorithns with Kriging surrogate model together. Different configurations, performances and deformation patterns were obtained for DCD and dual DCD optimization problems.
