Abstract: A new generation of three-dimensional carbon nanostructures is evolving. These flexible carbon systems based on carbon nanotubes and nanofibers and graphene sheets are capable of substantial shape deformation and thus have exciting applications in flexible electronics, sensors, and complex mechanical structures.
