A novel informed dynamic scheduling algorithm for belief propagation decoding of LDPC codes

Abstract:An irregular edge of variable to check residual belief propagation for LDPC is proposed in this paper. Based on the variable to check residual belief propagation algorithm, it combines the irregular edges within the largest residual and makes the judgment at last. The improved informed dynamic scheduling employs more reliable messages to update variable and check nodes. Simulation experiments show that it outperforms with only maximum 8 iterations by about 0.1dB compared with IVCRBP at an FER of 10-5. Moreover the improved algorithm is better than other algorithms after large number of iterations.
