Abstract:The catalytic behavior of Fe(2/3)XNi1-xSO4-promoter/ -Al 2O3 in propene oligomerization has been studied. Effects of atomic ratio of Fe/(Fe+Ni),molar ratio of SO4 2-/(Fe+Ni) and different promoters on catalyst properties were examined. Preferable atomic ratio of Fe/(Fe+Ni) was found to be 0. 72,and optimum molar ratio SO4 2-/(Fe+Ni)to be 1. 4. In addition, P2O5 was selected as an effective promoter. 23. 1%Fe0.53Ni0.21SO4-5. 75%P2O5/ -Al2O3 was examined as an optimun composition of the catalyst. Under the conditions of T = 60 70 C , P = 3. 0MPa and LHSV = 1 2h-1, conversion of propene and selectivity for C12 =+ were as high as 97% 87% and 66% 52%, respectively. The catalyst was deactivated by poisoning of H2O and NaOH, and the conversion decreased linearly with increasing amount of NaOH. It was suggested that the propene oligomerization proceeds via acid catalysis. The fatal amount of NaOH for the reaction corresponds to the value of 0. 72 by extrapolation.
