回转窑横截面颗粒流动特性数值模拟研究

摘要:In a rotary kiln there are motions of material particles in both axial and transverse sections. The material flow characteristics in the cross section have important influence on the material mixing and energy distribution. An Enlerian two?fluid model coupled with the kinetic theory of granular flow was applied to simulate the material flow characteristics in the cross section in the cement rotary kiln, and validated against experimental data from the litera?ture. The results of numerical calculation were in good agreement with the measurement. Results show that the mate?rial movement in the rotary kiln cross?section is stratified. In the active surface layer the velocity is larger, while in the internal passive layer the velocity is small. The velocity vectors within the active layer are not parallel to the bed surface. In an actual rotary kiln of engineering scale, there exist waves at the bed free surface;and the gas in the kiln is affected significantly by the granular motion; vortices and flying sand are produced impacting the bed sur?face.
