Abstract:Although the effectiveness of social-tagging-systems has been illustrated in information retrieval and organization, there still are some urgent requirements including reducing redundancy and saving semantic relations for them. A natural solution is to organize tags in a hierarchical means. In this paper, we propose the idea of hierarchical-tag or HTag for short, and verify the improvements in the navigability of the HTag-base folksonomy by computational stimulations on the basis of a delicious.com dataset. Our findings may shed light on designing social-tagging-systems to improve the navigability. ? 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
