摘要：The upstream as well as the downstream curved surfaces of thearch dam are described by a binary polynomial with 13 parameters (which can suit surfaces of any realistic arch dam). Based on this concept, a linear programming model is introduced. Many difficulties associated with nonlinear model are overcome. The feasibility and various advantages of the proposed model are illustrated by a numerical example.
