Abstract: Five multi-principal component NixCoCrFeMo0.1 (x = 1, 2, and 3, in molar ratio) alloys were prepared by vacuum arc-melting in a water-cooled copper crucible. The effects of Ni on the microstructure and mechanical properties were studied. Results indicated the CoCrFeNi alloy exhibits a single face-centered cubic (FCC) solid-solution structure. The hardness of all these alloys have slightly different after annealing, which indicates the series of alloys have high thermal stability and good high temperature application.
