摘要:CuAl2O4 photocatalyst with different morphologies was prepared using citric acid and stearic acid as chelating agents respectively by sol-gel method. The dynamics of its formation process was analyzed via DTA-TG. The samples at different crystal stages were characterized via XRD. And their morphologies were observed via TEM. The results indicate that well-dispersed irregular nanocrystals CuAl2O4 with sizes of 10-25 nm were formed at 700 degrees C for 2 h when citric acid was used as chelating agent. Single CuAl2O4 phase with sizes of 40-90 nm in serious agglomeration was formed at 1000 degrees C in 2 h with stearic acid as chelating agent. The photocatalytic degradation was carried out for methyl orange on CuAl2O4 under high pressure mercury lamp (lambda> 400 nm) irradiation. The results show photocatalytic activity of CuAl2O4 nonapowders prepared by citric acid complex is higher than that prepared by stearic acid complex. Their decoloration rate on methyl orange is 98% and 85% after 2 h reaction, respectively.
