摘要:Finite element method has been employed to study the structural performance of one kind of hybrid Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP)-concrete beam subjected to thermal effects using commercial Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software, ABAQUS. According to Chinese Bridge Code, three ambient temperature changes: positive and negative uniform temperature changes, and temperature gradients, were chosen in this paper. This study describes the deformation shapes and stress distribution for the hybrid beam subjected to the three temperature changes. FEA results indicate that the thermal response of the hybrid FRP-concrete beam would be significant, and the thermal effects should be considered as one of the important effects in the structural design of hybrid FRP-concrete beam.
