摘要： In the 21st century, people will come into an epoch of fully utilizing the ocean resources. Meanwhile, this will also bring more opportunities and challenges than ever to the development of coastal and offshore engineering. This article emphasizes the developing tendency of coastal and offshore engineering in respect of ocean energy resource exploitation, ocean space utilization and hazard prevention in ocean engineering which people will concern about in the next century and also gives some discussions about the actual situation in China.
