Abstract:Accurate sensor localization is significant for various applications of wireless networks. In this paper, a cooperative localization of sensor nodes based on receivedsignal- strength (RSS) is proposed. Firstly, sensors estimate their positions with the help of anchor nodes and broadcast the estimates to their neighbors. Secondly, the sensors work together to refine their positions simultaneously. The refinement is described by a dynamically recursive method, referred as resampling, which can drive all the possible position estimates of a sensor with respect to the information of its neighbors towards an expected position. The proposed algorithm can eliminate large localization error caused by mirror point and measurement noise. The Posterior Cramer-Rao Bound (PCRB) of the localization error is derived. Numerical simulation results verify the novel algorithm is efficient. ? 2012 ICIC International.
