摘要:Two-dimensional numerical simulations of gap resonance problem between twin boxes induced by forced heave motion are presented in this paper. Both viscous fluid model and potential flow model with artificial viscous damping are employed. The viscous fluid model is based on the OpenFOAM package, solving the Navier-Stokes equations with Finite Volume Method and capturing the free surface using Volume of Fluid method, in the frame of Arbitrary Langrangian-Eulerian reference coordinate. The potential flow model is developed in frequency domain by introducing calibrated artificial damping term along the free surface, which enables to limit the amplitude of water oscillations in the narrow gap. Numerical investigations by viscous model show that the normalized free surface amplitude in the narrow gap decreases with the increase of forced heave motion amplitude. The physical energy dissipations resulted from the boundary friction and vortical flows are presented with detailed discussions. For the cases considered in this work, the calibrated damping coefficients ranging for the potential flow model is able to produce predictions of wave amplitudes and heave forces in the narrow gaps.
