Abstract: Accompanying the 're-industrialization' strategy and the foundation of the National Network for Manufacturing Innovation(NNMI), the U.S. Government regarded additive manufacturing(AM) technology as the most promising one and mapped out series of policies to enhance the development of the industry. Meanwhile, top-level plan of advanced manufacturing industry is deployed in China, promoting AM industry to national strategic level. This paper is aimed at the AM industry policies of U.S. and China, making comparison analysis on strategic arrangement, technology road-map and support policies, and proposes suggestions on industrial structure, distribution, technology, organization, financial, and support policy. ? 2016 IEEE.
