Abstract:Mitigating climate change will require more fundamental changes to the way that business delivers products and services to the end consumer. The carbon-constrained world needs the supply chain to provide low carbon product of particularly energy saving or low carbon emission when consumpted. The low carbon product, as a new kind of product, needs a period to be accepted by the market of the consumers in the early stage of the supply chain's operation. Pricing issues may be the key factor for the low carbon product to approach the market. The game model of the pricing strategy along with the supply chain considering the different decision-making mode, the government subsidy and the energy consumption as well as the carbon emission about the low carbon product is discussed in this paper. After the model analysis, this paper explores the effect of cost difference between the low carbon product and the traditional one on the pricing strategy and the process of crossing the market chasm.
