Abstract:The collision behavior of binary droplets is widely present in natural phenomena and industrial applications such as raindrop formation, fuel spray, spray cooling, inkjet printing, pesticide spraying, etc. The collision result will be comprehensively affected by droplet parameters and gas phase environment. Research on the collision behavior and regulation mechanism of binary droplets has always been a hot spot in this field. Combining with the current experimental progress and numerical model of binary droplet collision, the main control factors and regulation mechanism of collision behavior will be reviewed. The influence of collision parameters, droplet physical and chemical properties, gas phase environment on the droplet collision behavior and control results is specifically introduced, and the development trend and direction of droplet collision theory and application are prospected. © 2021, Editorial Board of CIESC Journal.
