Abstract:“The Gadamer-Derrida Encounter” which caused wide public concern, is not only the debate of Gadamer and Derrida, but also the clash of philosophical hermeneutics anddeconstructivism. In China, study of the two ideological trends and their translation theories are mostly concentrated on the deep understanding and reflection of theories or using them to interpret literary versions. Based on these, the article attempts to make the status and role of translator as the breakthrough point and discusses the translator’s behaviors under the two translation views, and then draws the conclusion that translators should not look up to some theory as standard, but adapt to development of the times.
