Abstract:The ice-resistant jacket platforms in Bohai Sea are subjected to sea ice every winter, which causes serious ice-induced vibration problem. It is very important to study the ice-induced vibration hazards to ensure safe operation on ice-resistant jacket platforms and reduce the losses caused by sea ice hazards in cold regions. Aiming at the problem that jacket platform structure may have hidden damage under long-term iceinduced vibration, Hilbert-Huang Transform was used to identify structural damage. Firstly, the model of a jacket platform was established by general finite element software ANSYS, and the transient dynamic analysis was carried out under the loads of ice. Then Hilbert-Huang Transform was performed on the dynamic response signals, the intrinsic mode function (IMF) and Hilbert energy marginal spectra of the signals were obtained. Finally, the damage index was constructed by the change of Hilbert energy marginal spectrum between healthy structure and damaged structure, the effectiveness of which was analyzed and compared under different damage degrees. The effects of ice velocity and ice thickness on the damage index were also discussed. The above work can provide reference for damage identification of jacket structure under ice-induced vibration in cold regions. © 2021, Editorial Board of Journal of Ship Mechanics.
