Abstract:Superoleophobic surfaces on zinc substrates are fabricated via electrochemical etching and perfluorooctanoic acid modification. The wettability, surface morphology and chemical composition of the sample surfaces are investigated using optical contact angle measurements, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, respectively. The influences of the main processing parameters, for example, etching time, current density and electrolyte composition, on the wettability are also studied. The results show that the processed surfaces are composed of micro/nanoscale voids and suspended structures, presenting superoleophobicity with the contact angles of water, glycerin, peanut oil and hexadecane exceeding 150 degrees and the sliding angles of them being <20 degrees.
