Research on Orthogonal Turn-milling Machining of Micro Shafts

  • 摘要:Orthogonal turn-milling machining of stainless steel micro shafts was carried out. Influences of the rotate speed of workpiece, milling speed and milling thickness on the dimensional accuracy of the workpiece were analyzed based on the experiments, as well as the tool life. The results show that good dimensional accuracy of micro shaft could be achieved by orthogonal turn-milling. Under the optimum process conditions, empty set0.65 mm x 3.5 mm stainless steel micro shaft with the dimension error less than 3.18 mu m can be obtained. Lower cutting speed and less feed lead to less wear of tools.
