Abstract:A complete field test system are developed on the jacket platforms in Bohai Sea, which is used to measure necessary information related to ice actions on structures and structural responses. A load panel system is designed and installed at the ice level, which is able to detect both static ice loading and fluctuating ice forces of high frequency. A group of accelerometers are mounted in different directions on the deck to record structure's vibration. Video cameras are installed to record continuous high quality videos, which are used to calibrate ice thickness and ice velocity. Data from different platforms are acquired concurrently by wireless network and stored in the computers. The first hand database collected in-situ yields fruitful accomplishments related to ice loads and ice induced vibrations.
