Abstract:As the limitations of the ice loads research, the design code of the ice-resistant jacket-up struc-tures is not based on the dynamic response analysis considering the dynamical ice force model. In order to build the reasonable ice-resistant conception design and safety assessment, the dynamic response analysis of the jack-up platform under the ice loads is essential. In this paper, the dynamics characteristics of the flexi-ble ice-resistant structures is analyzed;and based on the model test for ice forces on the jack-up platform, the interaction form between the ice and the cylindrical leg with gear teeth will be determined; Finally, the ice-induced dynamic responses are computed under the typical ice conditions by taking a jack-up plat-form in Bohai Sea as an example. This study will provide reasonable reference for ice-resistant design and safety assessment under ice vibrations of the jack-up drilling platforms.
