Dr. Dong Zhigang is a professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Mechanical Engineering in Dalian University of Technology, China.
Professor Dong is a member of International Committee for Abrasive Technology (ICAT), a member of Extreme Manufacturing Branch of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, a member of Special Machining Branch of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society—Committee of Ultrasonic Machining Technology , a member of the Production Engineering Branch of China Mechanical Engineering Society—Abrasive Technology Professional Committee and a member of the Precision Engineering & Micro-Nano Technology Professional Committee. He is a reviewer of 22 domestic and foreign journals including Scientific Reports, Measurement Science and Technology, Material & Design, Journal of Mechanical Processing Technology, International Journal of Mechanical Science, and Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering and so on. He has won the excellent reviewer of Journals such as Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautical Manufacturing Technology for many times.
Dr. Dong's main research interests include the high-efficiency machining technology of difficult-to-cut materials and precision/ultra-precision processing technologies. He is in charge of more than 10 national projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science and Technology Major Project.
Professor Dong has won second prize for National Technology Invention of China, first prize for Technological Invention Award of Ministry of Education, first prize of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award. He has published over 100 journal papers, including more than 60 indexed by SCI/EI. 6 international invention patents and 86 Chinese invention patents are authorized.
