RESEARCH INTERESTS
The overall research goal is to design, synthesize and characterize advanced materials for biomedical and other applications. The research is a multi-displinary program including materials science, polymer chemistry, surface and interface science, biotechnology and nanotechnology.
Specifically, the current research focuses on 1) creating programmable matrix with multifarious properties in order to recapitulate the dynamic nature of native tissue for regenerative medicine and disease modeling; 2) developing stimuli-responsive theranostics with the ability of detecting, diagnosis and treatment of diseases for personalized medicine; and 3) developing point-of-care devices for medical diagnosis, environmental monitoring, and food safety.
