A professor and doctoral supervisor of Dalian University of Technology, winner of Excellent Youth Fund of the National Natural Science Fundation of China (NSFC). He is now a member of the Ice Committee of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research(IAHR) and a member of the fourth and fifth executive committees of IAHR China chapter. He is mainly engaged in scientific research in the field of polar sea ice. He has made a series of research achievements in the frontier topics in the field of laboratory physical modeling of sea ice, in-situ observation technology and remote sensing of sea ice, parameterization of key thermal / dynamic processes of sea ice. These researches have been successfully applied in the on-site investigation of Chinese National Arctic/Anatrctic Research Expeditions, the design and operation safety of ice breakers, and the development of sea ice numerical model. 

He took charge of over nine NSFC projects, including one science fund for outstanding young people and three general projects. As the main completion person, he participated in the research work of National Major Scientific Research Plan, National Science and Technology Support Plan, key projects of National Natural Science Foundation and so on. He has published more than 100 academic papers and more than 50 were indexed by SCI / EI. His paper has been cited 110 times by international mainstream SCI journals, and the highest single paper of the first author has been cited 35 times. The paper achievements have successively won the polar science excellent paper award of the State Oceanic Administration, the Liaoning Natural Science Academic Achievement Award, and the Dalian Natural Science Excellent Academic Award.
