Profile

Prof. Feng Tan is a full professor at School Environmental & Technology, Dalian University of Technology, China. Prof. Tan obtained his PhD in analytical chemistry from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 2001. From 2005 to 2007 he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Beijing Proteome Research Center. In 2007, he joined School Environmental Science & Technology, Dalian University of Technology, China. From 2013 to 2014 he worked as a visiting scholar at University of California, Riverside. He is presently a member of editorial boards of several journals such as “Scientific Reports”, “Plos One” and so on.

Prof. Tan’s research includes: (1) transfer, fate, and metabolic transformation of new pollutants in water-soil-organism; (2) chemical/biological sensing technology based on functional nanomaterials; (3) toxicity and exposure risks of new pollutants integrating multi-omics analysis (transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics). These researches were supported by multiple national and provincial and ministerial fundings. He has published more than 80 peer-reviewed papers in peer-reviewed journals such as “Environmental Science & Technology”, “Water Research”, “Science of the Total Environment”, “Biosensors & Bioelectronics”, “Sensors and Actuator B: Chemicals” and so on. His research has led to more than ten issued China patents. He was invited as reviewers for many journals such as “Environmental Science & Technology”, “Water Research”, “Science of the Total Environment”, etc.

He has mentored more than 30 M.S. and Ph.D. including international students.

Ph.D. students and Postdoc positions are available. Candidates can contact at tanf@dlut.edu.cn with a cover letter and a resume.
