Abstract:The present paper extends epsilon -relaxation algorithm and epsilon -continuation algorithm to truss topology optimization with local buckling constraints. It is shown that for the relaxed formulation the feasible domain in no longer disjointed and the singularity is removed. In the optimization problems for stress and local buckling constraints, different values of relaxation factor epsilon should be applied. This technique enables us to solve truss topology optimization problem with very general constraints.
