Abstract:The reliability and security of ship’s operation are closely related to the quality of shaft alignment, and offset adjustment of bearing is important to shaft alignment. An optimization method based on the quadratic programming is used for determining offsets of bearings, and then, based on the influence numbers of bearings reactions, a calculation method is proposed for forecasting reactions on the bearings. Through measurement and calculation of several marine shafts, it is shown that the methods introduced in the paper can provide guidance in the practice of aligning shaft.
