Abstract:A method for bicubic-spline interpolation function is introduced. With this method, the research on the curve surface fitting of complicated ship hull plate has been done with the given discrete data. Combining the visual interface of VC with the powerful numerical computation and graphics display of MATLAB, the computer software for ship hull's complicated curve surface forming with fitting method has been developed. To match the given curve surface and the fitting curve surface under different boundary constrain conditions, the attainable precision exceeds by 99% with which the reliability of the software can be verified. The experiments in ship hull plate are presented to show the efficiency of the method.
