Abstract:Based on finite element analysis,the static and dynamic behavior of a panel structure with localized damage was discussed. The influences of damage parameters such as damage position,damage size,damage extension were considered to study the characteristic of the panel structure.Three kinds of damages including localized loss of plate thickness,isotropic damage,and orthotropic damage were studied.The damage was considered as reduction of stiffness in a damaged finite element analysis,so compared with the isotropic material,no more material parameters are needed.The variation of natural frequency,natural mode and stress of a damaged panel structure was calculated through numerical simulation. This method can easily be used in damaged finite element analysis of engineering structures.
