Abstract:A novel method based on the vibration transmissibility is presented for subsea pipeline in this paper. Fist, the vibration transmissibility for a pipeline structure was presented theoretically. An outlier analysis algorithm was used to detect the structural damage by using of the transmissibility function calculated with the measured vibration signals. Next, the experimental investigations were carried out to verify the feasibility of the proposed method. The results demonstrate that the local damage in the pipeline can be effectively detected. It is indicated that the transmissibility based approach can be used to monitor the damage or structural deterioration for subsea pipelines.
