Abstract:A mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model including the cost of equipment start-up and shutdown was established to optimize the multi-period operation of steam power system in this paper. The boilers and steam turbines were based on actual performance model with a reasonable linearization. The model was solved by using LINGO and reasonable optimal operation plan was obtained with a great saving on the running costs.
