Abstract:In order to improve the thermal mechanical performance of cylinder head, a 3D nonlinear FEA of the cylinder head of a multicy Under diesel engine was conducted by using whole component coupled method. The stress distribution of the cylinder head under the combined action of bolt preload, thermal load and firing pressure was calculated and the locations and causes of stress concentration were found out. The analysis and calculation results showed that this method is helpful to the structure improvement of cylinder head.
