Abstract:A novel simulation method is proposed to obtain the geometric parameters
of target prebending plate before the operation for complete
fracture.The main processing scheme consists of the following steps:
Firstly the serial tomograms of fracture part from CT scan are got and
denoised by Curvelet transform and 3-D reconstructing; Secondly a method
based on vertex normal feature is utilized to obtain fractured bone
section;Thirdly a coarse registration based on minimum bounding box and
a precise registration based on non-iterative estimation are combined to
align the two sections,also the two fractured bone models are
aligned;Lastly,an accurate NURBS surface fitting method is used to fit
the plate,and the geometric parameters are measured.The humeral fracture
and rib fracture are chosen as experimental subjects.The prebended plate
models produced attach to the bone hermetically,and the geometric
parameters are accurate to meet the clinic need.This new method affords
technical support to shorten operation time and improve operation
quality.
