Abstract:The matter of blocked requests for the crane's service of the work areas in machining workshop is a common problem, settlement of which can directly improve the efficiency of the whole system. A simulation model of the system based on queue theories is built by utilizing the lean production principium. An arrival time interval control method based on prediction is developed. Through lots of simulation calculation cases, the rules of target values (the maximum latency time, total latency time of all the work area and the answer times and the total moving distance of the crane in a working day) changing along with the given descriptive variables (operation hours, crane service hours, and the original arrival time of the requests of the work areas) are elicited. The impact of two main random factors as the operation hours and the crane service hours is considered in the research. Applying the rules attained from the calculation cases, achieving the guideline of the conditional variables (operation hours, crane service hours, the original request arrival time) needs to change to be up to the optimal output of the simulation system under the current conditions. The research shows that this method can satisfactorily limit the maximum latency time and total latency time and control the length of the queue and improve the efficiency of the whole system.
