Abstract:The radome is to ensure the antenna work normally under extremely harsh condition. It is a workpiece made of hard and brittle material with large and complicated curve surface. Precision grinding of the inner surface of radome can improve its working performance. The inner surface precision grinding is, in fact, a machining of a free form surface. Reconstruction of the inner surface of radome through the measuring process is a premise to perform the precision grinding. According to the obtained discrete point set of the inner surface, the fairing treatment is performed employing a least-squares method after picking out spoiled points and overlapped points. Through data rarefaction treatment, the double-ordering of the discrete data is realized and the reconstruction of the inner surface of the radome is completed based on bicubic B-spline function. Using this method, the post-machining inner surface is obtained, and it makes the cutting locus planning in NC machining process possible. This method effectively eliminates random errors coming from the measuring process, and the reconstructed inner surface is fair and accurate.
