Abstract:The systematical study was carried out to investigate the effect of casting speed, casting temperature, cooling water, alloy composition and the height of liquid level on the quality of 7050 aluminum alloy slab by electromagnetic semi-continuous casting, and the influencing mechanism was also analyzed deeply. At last, the optimal casting process parameters were obtained: casting speed 85 mm/min, pouring temperature 710��C, flow rate of cooling water 3 m 3/h, input current 2500 A, frequency 1700 Hz, and the liquid surface retaining at the half height of the graphite crystallizer. A slab with the size of 420 mm��130 mmx��1000 mm has been successfully cast with the above parameters.
