Abstract:Considering the elasto plastic deformation and geometric large deformation, the nonlinear dynamic behavior of circular plates under in-plane impact velocities is studied in this paper. The plate begins to buckle as the impact velocity exceeds the critical velocity. The post-buckling process is presented by deflection surfaces at various times, which depends upon the impact velocities, boundary conditions, material constants and geometries of the plate. Numerical results show that the plate firstly buckles in the higher order bucking mode, then tends to the lower order one, and finally reduces to a certain order mode of vibration if the impact loads release in a proper way.
