Abstract: With the development of manufacturing industry, the traditional product design process requires more rapid and intelligent information database system. In this paper, an agent oriented active database system is proposed, which have the characteristic of distributed, initiative, and intelligent. Furthermore, the retrieval algorithm is designed to calculate the similarity between parts. Experiment results show the efficiency of our proposed system.
