Abstract: The structural reduction method is always one of the important means of improving the computational efficiency. However, for the damage-reduction structures with local nonlinear damping elements, the traditional model reduction method can not be used directly. Therefore, this paper takes into account the effects of local nonlinear damping elements, and presents a fast nonlinear analysis method based on the reduction method updated with flexibility modification. The numerical results show that the proposed method has high accuracy and efficiency, which can consider the effects of the damper components on the structural responses.
