Abstract: A polymer poly(phthalazinone ether sulfone ketone) (PPESK) was employed as support to load heteropoly anion [PW9O34](9-) with chemical interaction. The organic-inorganic hybrid material was characterized by FT-IR and TGA. In liquid-phase oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde with hydrogen peroxide as oxidant, the supported catalyst exhibited high catalytic activity under mild reaction conditions. Leaching and recycling experiments confirmed that the heteropoly anions immobilized on polymer matrix were stable. (C) 2008 Published by Elsevier B.V.
