Abstract:To prolong the lifetime of wireless sensor networks, RCCHR (regional centralized clustering hierarchical protocol), a regional-centralized cluster formation algorithm for routing protocol is proposed. When nodes are deployed, the centralized algorithm will be run to overcome the defect that the clusters distribute unevenly, just like LEACH-C. After this round, a regional centralized algorithm will be implemented. The node sends information about location and energy to the cluster-head node in a cluster. The cluster-head run a dummy center algorithm to select a new cluster-head in the next round so that the node no longer sends information to the base station directly each round, thus the costs will be decreased. The cluster-heads run hierarchical based algorithm to create a path through to the base station.
