Abstract: Ideal Functional Material Components (IFMC) are the heterogeneous objects which are designed with best functional using, and constructed by homogeneous materials, composite materials, functionally gradient material, periodic meso-structures. CAD modeling for IFMC is the foundation of digital concurrent design and manufacturing. A main framework of the CAD modeling for ideal functional material components, which included a face-based non-manifold geometric model and a periodic meso-structures based material representation schema, are put forward in this paper.
