Abstract:Model registration is widely utilized in many applications including shape modeling and processing. In this paper a shape descriptor based model registration method is proposed. First, feature points on the given mesh models are extracted by using a distance-based shape descriptor and paired according to their values as well. Fake pairs of feature point are then removed after considering their intrinsic properties. Finally, the transformation matrix is calculated by using the exact feature point pairs and used to register the given models. Experimental results prove the feasibility of the proposed method. ? 2013 Binary Information Press.
