Abstract:Analysis of mine ventilation networks has traditionally been limited to calculation, using network simulation models, of the exact values of branch airflow and pressure losses from a given set of precise input parameters. In reality the input parameters (e.g. resistance) to the models are particularly difficult to estimate precisely or impossible to be all measured. However, the deterministic network model provides no information about how the output will be affected by the imprecision and uncertainty in the input parameters. In case of modeling vague data in mine ventilation networks by fuzzy sets, the formulas for determining correction factor for air quantity in Cross iteration can be extended on fuzzy resistance, thus a quick and effective approach is obtained to solve network models which contains uncertain parameters still employing classical numerical methods. A numerical example illustrates that fuzzy air quantity can be calculated efficiently in this way. Furthermore, interval of the air quantities of diagonal branches with flexible flowing direction can be recognized directly.
