Abstract:In order to improve air-source heat pump's heating capacity in cold climate, this paper presents a novel system, which integrates the compressor heat recovery unit into the two-stage compression cycle and is supplemented by the low-pressure vapor feeding unit. Thus the low temperature adaptability of the system is greatly enhanced. A prototype whose standard heating capacity is 8 kW is designed and a series of tests are conducted, in which the ethylene glycol solution loop is used to simulate outdoor environment. The experimental results show that the system is capable of providing 50 degrees C heating hot water when outside temperature is 20 degrees C, while the COP is 1.76; The heating capacity of the system is 4.71 kW and the exhausted temperature of the compressor is below 100 degrees C.
