Abstract: An N-hetrocyclic carbene fictionalized synthetic polymer for reversible fixation and release of CO2has been reported. The stability of the fixed CO2in P-NHC-CO2was studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and CO2released from P-NHC-CO2at elevated temperatures was confirmed by FTIR analysis. The immobilized N-hetrocyclic carbenes reacted rapidly with CO2to afford zwitterionic adducts under temperatures of 20-100 ° C and trapped CO2was quantitatively released by a N2flow at 140 ° C. The results demonstrated the potential application of N-hetrocyclic carbene fictionalized polymers as highly efficient adsorbent for reversible fixation release of CO2with higher fixing efficiency and faster capture rate.
