Abstract: This work reveals that furfural and 2-thenaldehyde can readily react with melamine via "one-step'' polycondensation to yield hyper-cross-linked sulfur-, nitrogen- and oxygen-richmicroporous polyaminals with promising applications in adsorption of gases and toxic organic vapors.
